I'm very torn about the composition in this one and would greatly appreaciate your feedback. Sometimes one get's stuck in a rut and can't see wrong from right...

To me the comp feels left-centric. It's not a bad comp but I feel it's balance is to the left a little more than I would like with this height dimension...for some reason cropping the bottom off feels better. I like it a lot with a bottom crop!

I think this looks good - where is this? I too thought about a crop off the foreground, but I don't think it's worth losing the reflection of the clouds - maybe a little skim there and also a little bit off the right side too. I think this is a really nice shot though. Your processing looks great.

The comp is fine as far as I'm concerned. The light looks a bit harsh/bright though. Perhaps drop the brightness a tad. What do you think about a 10-15% crop off the right hand side?

I like the feel of this image. The light does appear a bit harsh. I might try a little something different and crop a bit off the top, down to the top of the large cloud. Just a thought.

This is really a wonderful scene. I like this alot and I'm just enjoying the view. The sky looks great and I like the cloud reflections alot. I could see a bit off the right side and a little less brightness, but a beautiful shot either way. Very nice work!

Thanks all for the comments. I'm going to try a few of those cropping suggestions. The empty area of the lower left might be the problem which makes the composition look a little unbalanced...?
It does indeed look a tad too bright. I think it's time to recalibrate my monitor.
This shot is part of a series of images showing the rivers that runs into a small inlet called Gåpjávrre in Arctic Norway. It is a quite facinating place with an impressive history. The inlet lies in a secluded valley surrounded by tall and steep mountains. It didn't have road access before 1983 and the people had to travel up a river and over the lake to reach their small farms. During spring and autumn the small farming community was totally isolated because of the unstable ice on the inlet. The terrain is unforgiving and the struggle that the people who lived here went through to put food on the table and roof over their heads is impressive. In winter it is a very harsh place, but in summer the inlet becomes a paradise with it's chalky white beaches.

I think it's fine as is Svein. Not worth losing that reflection with a crop.

Very nice scene and composition. the only thing I would consider is possible darkening the sky(midtones) just a tad.

Svein,
Not sure what you're torn about regarding the composition. I think it's a solid comp and an excellent mountain landscape image. You've got a great, complimentary sky and I think everything is nicely balanced. The only minor thing would be that I think the reflection could be a little more prominent - I'm guessing you may have used a polarizer and it might have deadened the reflection. But that's very minor. I like this a lot. Thanks for posting!
