One of my favorites from Alaska. This grizzly was pleased with his catch. Note the water coming off the front paw as it is lifted out of the water. Nikon D300 ISO 400 1/250 F8 with Nikon 200-400.

Comments and critiques always welcome. I do learn from each post.

Thanks

Andrew

Awesome ! Youve done well to get into position to get this perspective. I like the steady head from the bear despite the salmon's struggles.

That is a great shot! I might suggest selective additional sharpening on the lower portions of the bear and the fish. It looks like your camera focused in the vicinity of his ear as that looks quite sharp. Super job in capturing this image.

Excellent. I like the action, the colors and the details, such as the tiny streaks of water droplets against the background. The only tweak I might try would be a slight crop on the left, just to reposition the location of the main focal points within the frame.

Spectacular Andrew! :jump: Like with an image posted by Brad recently I think this is as much about the unfortunate fish as it is about the bear. Excellent DOF and you managed to get a sharp shot at a rather low SS; great work. If this were mine I probably would try to balance the exposure a bit more; i.e. darken the bright water and lighten up the bear a bit. But beware not to give it a washed out look if you decide to experiment with that. However this is merely a suggestion to make an excellent image even better.
