Eastern Meadowlark
Bolivar, Upper Texas Coast
D2X, 600, ISO 320, f5.6, 1/250.
Here's one I just processed that I took in 2006. Gotta love the Texas size Thistle ;-)

Nice singing pose of the bird. The comp and perch work really well.

Alan: Splendid as usual with your work. The juxtaposition of the thistle with it's vivid colors and the yellow breast of the Meadowlark really works for me on this. Of course adding the singing pose didn't hurt

Hello Alan,
I like it very much and most of all the combination with a strong color palette, Black, yellow, green and, lilac.

Just a friendly reminder from the posting guidelines:
Avian Gallery - All images with birds as the main subject. Images of captive birds, or birds baited with seed, other non-live bait or recordings must be disclosed as such.
I read on another site that this bird was attracted with a recording. Doesn't detract from a beautiful image. Just a reminder of NPN's posting guidelines. Thx.
