This Common redshank is from Öland, an island in the Baltic sea. The OOF background is a wide coast meadow where the cattle graze.

Nice pose and clarity. The comp and background work really well.

Lennart, I like the wing position and the crossed legs. Sharpness, exposure and light look good to my eye and the post perch is fine by me. The larger version is only 144kb and the overcompression shows IMO. There's a significant halo around the bird and a dust spot at lower left. I think this could be a fine image if presented closer to the 500 kb limit and the halo were fixed.

Lennart, Beautiful pose, background and sharpness, I agree w/ Ron regarding the slight halo. Wonderful capture.

Thanks for your comments.
Ron, I have not notised neither the holo nor the dust before you mentioned it. Thank you for your observation.
I don´t know if I can change to a larger file size with less compression now.

I agree with Ron D's assessment of this shot Lennart. I believe the detail in the larger image would be much better without the overcompression of the file.

Funny to see your shot and Gary's back to back...were your two birds talking to one another?? Very nice capture, love the light, door and comp on this.

Eerie resemblance to my Yellowlegs. My bird was fighting a head wind and was trying to regain balance, assume the same thing occurred here. It does make for a more interesting posture imho. It really pays to try and max out image size for best showing. I bet this is a cool place, Oland.
