Yellow Flower
by Richard Teller
Here is another flower from Cedar Canyon. The wildflowers have been great this year. I have had a lot of fun trying to do different perspectives of them. All comments are welcome and appreciated.

8 commentsI quite like this in number of ways. First, the color scheme is quite pleasing with the combination of the yellow and subtle, pale pastels of the background. And that background - very intriguing because that long stem? looks more like a crack in ice or glass thrown way oof - or something. I think that the bg is working really well and supporting the composition. Lastly, the flower itself has just enough depth and sharpness to carry the image, with a great supporting background and design.
The only nitpick I have would be to suggest cloning out the numerous sensor spots or artifacts - most of them to the right of the flower. I love that bg, just smooth it out a little more with some minor cloning.

Nicely seen and composed. Wish the flower was not past prime but you get what you are given. Like the placement of the flower in this image.
I like the unconventional composition -- that diagonal stem really makes it work well. (I am a fan of that lens, too.)
Looks like time to clean the sensor -- there must be be some pretty big stuff there to show up at f/8.
