Flower raindrops

This was taken after a brief shower. I previously posted different versions of this in macro and weekly challenge galleries. This is a black-eyed susan flower refracted in raindrops on an Iris leaf.

Canon Rebel T1i. 90mm macro lens. F/11 for 1/4 sec. ISO 100. Tripod mounted. Remote shutter release, mirror lock-up.

Love it. Everything works in it for me and I especially like the mood.

Carolyn, I like all three versions you posted, but probably the one in macro the best. I like the details in the drops and separation from the BG. I think the lower left 1/4 of this image would have worked well also.

Carolyn: Extra points for identifying this as a refraction :toast: :toast:! Just a great find and a superb capture to keep most all the drop images sharp. For those who have never shot drops like this it is really difficult to manage plane of focus and DOF. Most excellent. >=))>

Cool photo Carolyn! I like the reflection of the bloom in the drops, and how it is OOF in the frame but not in the drops. Very neat!

Nathan

Edit: Negative points for me calling it a reflection! :frown:

Bill, I learned they are refractions from you after one of my first posts on NPN! It sounds like you also have given similar corrections to Ram too at one point. What a great teacher.
