Fireweed, Willow Herb

Epilobium minutum; Fireweed, Willow Herb or at least my best guess at ID. This is one of the few wildflowers with blooms at present here in SW Oregon. It grows on our stone drive way in so dry and area that little else even shows green. The blooms are very small (approx 3 or 4 mm) and onlt open in the am or early afternoon.

I like this, Charlie! Great comp and details. The BG contrasts so nicely with the flower. Well done!

Interesting little bloom Charlie. The details are very nice. I like the contrast from the green BG. I wonder if the shot could be lightened up just a tad.

Clean and sharp exposure of flower center with nice wash in background. Good red-green contrast. Adding the bud is a nice touch as it gives the photo more complexity and tells a story about the plant.

Excellent image, Charlie. The light is superb, and I really like the inclusion of the bud. DOF and alignment of the bud and flower works really well here.

Excellent image Charles. Hope you are not affected by the drought.. bg looks pretty green to me, so there must be some moisture nearby.

Beautifully composed. The bud provides a great second focal point to the image.
