Green Heron

Taken this morning in some great light, from my kayak.

If nothing else, it gives a good view of the nictitating membrane!

Nikon D300; Sigma 500/4.5; f5 @1/1600th; ISO 320; HH; approx. 70% FF.

Sweet shot Tom. Love the foot up pose and the nice head turn. The membrane is not an issue as it is very clear. BG tops it off. Really nice.

I like this a lot as presented. Very nice detail especially with so much focal length from a kayak.

Really great image with a very complimentary background for the bird. Good feather detail, nice head turn, and I really like that foot in the air.
