Thanks for the comments on my last image. Here is another one from Norfolk, and again in the beach at Titchwell. These Sanderling were running up and down the beach, feeding, and if I lay down, after a while they would go right past me.

Techs:
Nikon D300s
Nikon 200-400 and 1.4tc
Handheld lying on sand
F5.6
1/1600s
ISO 400

Nice eye level shot. I need to work on doing that myself. I like the leg that's lifted up. Nice background. Good detail on the larger image. I might consider cropping some of the foreground.

Excellent low point of view. A ted soft on my monitor. Consider a skimmer pod as opposed to hand holding. Nice capture! :toast:

Very nice perspective - bird moving towards the viewer always seems to work. Agree that there's too much OOF foreground & the subject is also a bit soft, both correctable for next time. Good color.

Oscar,
This is giving me a neck ache just thinking about the position you were in to get this. I really love this perspective with the blurred out foreground and background keeping the bird and just a few rocks and shells sharp. The foot in the air is a nice touch. Looks like you had some really soft light (foggy or cloudy) that keeps the whites in check. Nice job Oscar!!

Thanks for the comments - to me the head looks sharp, but it was close and I was on f5.6 at the equivalent of 840mm on a D300s so the rest of the body and the feet are a bit soft.

Handholding wasn't too pad - I was resting the lens on the tripod foot, although I got soaked and covered in sand! The Skimmer pod looks fantastic, but can you get them in the UK?

Great shot. Really like the walking pose. I agree on cropping a bit more of the foreground. Well done.
