Hello Everyone,
I shot this flower along the Bogue Chitto River this past weekend. Any idea on an ID?

I don't know the ID, but it is very well presented. If I were to find any small fault, and I mean small, the little shrivled stem? hanging sown on the left is mildly distracting. This is s very small nit.

Very nice shot.I actually like the little dried stem with the droplets. This looks familiar I'll keep looking for a name.Possibly a Gerardia?

Sorry I cannot help with the ID David, but certainly a really pleasing image that’s it’s been my pleasure to view. Looking at the background I think you could probably have increased your DOF a little to obtain a tad more sharpness towards to back of the subject. But having said this I like the shot as is, and I think you have done well to capture the delicate nature of the bloom.
Best regards
Matthew

David, that is definitely a Gerardia but information on leaf shape is needed to identify the species. The genus is Agalinis. Nice image.

David,
Go ahead and run off to Bogue Chitto and don't worry about your two older friends. We will just have to post all old stuff. Anyway, sweet shot of this tiny but attractive wildflower. The composition looks pretty nice but maybe a tad more room to the right would have been better. Colors of the flower are strong which allow it to stand out nicely from the muted colors of the background.
