A Saltmarsh Sharp-tailed Sparrow from my "yellow bird" days at Brigantine.

50D, 500mm, ISO 200, 1/400, F4.5 LARGER, sharpened version also posted. Thanks for looking!

Beautiful lighting and a nice setting and comp here Sharon, to my eye the bird looks just slightly oversharpened, nice image. :toast:

Never an easy bird to spot and even harder to photograph. A great job getting it out in the open while retaining habitat and the details and field markings are wonderful.

Nice job getting him out in the open. I like the warm light too.

I believe this species is now just named Saltmarsh Sparrow.

I too like the comp and lighting Sharon. In the larger version, the oversharpening is apparent.

Impressive - this is a difficult subject (t least it was for me). I'd be very happy to have taken this. Nice light; good view; nice detail; goood setting.

Womderful light and a cool species, Sharon. Maybe back off the sharpening just a bit?
