Taken during a recent workshop in Alaska. Bg is a dark massive rock protruding from the water about 120 yards away.

Great job on the exposure. The face and shiny fish really draw the eye against that background.

Really like this one David, the black BG greatly enhances an already powerful image, well done!

Great shot David,
Like how you isolated the puffin using the rock as the black BG.
The three fishes are a big bonus.
Thx

Beautiful shot David, I like how it stands out from the black background and the way the wings angle back. :wavey:

Some people like black background and some don't. Personally, I like them and I think the lighting, the fish, and the black look great. Only minor thing I would clone out is the white speck below the right wing.

Now that is way cool David. Everything works, background, fish, flight, everything.

This photo is both awsome and unique. The dark background puts all the focus on the puffin

Very unique David. Not sure I have ever seen a puffin shot with such a black BG and this one looks like he is coming out of the darkness into the light. Nice work.
