Just some cool fungus on a fallen tree. Used a gold reflector to bring out the details in the fungus.

Wow, Todd! Excellent shot. The textures are just incredible! Love the tiny water droplet left/center of image. Very nicely done!

Outstanding composition Todd and fine detail. My only suggestion would be to clone out the twig in the viewer's upper left corner. Very fine work.

Great repeating inverted U's there, Todd - I also like how they go along the diagonal. Nice composition and terrific graphical feel

Todd:
Graphical and interesting. Good use of the reflector to bring out those dark areas. When I looked at the image without knowing your techs, I was saying to myself this would be nice at F22 - then I looked and you have used F22. I guess what I am saying the image is a little soft (did you use a tripod on this one or is this diffraction?). Still a very strong image as posted.

I like the repeating, frame filling pattern. I applaud your decision to use the reflector to help with the light.

Gary Y. yep I always use a tripod with my macro/close ups. It must be diffraction.

Great view of some interesting fungus. Nice pattern you have captured by this POV. I think a tighter crop from the top (just above the teddy bear-like ears) and the right (cut out the fungus in the bottom right corner) might improve this but that's just my opinion. Interesting view as is.
