I have been too quiet for my own liking...truth is I am way behind on processing most of the half-decent landscape images from my travels for the past year, and at the moment I am spending most of my processing time on wildlife and avian images.
Thought I'd pop back in here to post a quick one captured on a trip to South Africa's "Wild Coast" last year. I don't get to do many seascapes so I probably have more to learn about this sub-genre of 'scaping than I do anything else. All critiques therefore highly appreciated.
The sunrise didn't pan out exactly how I hoped it would with the clouds staying on the horizon and the sun therefore only peeping over them a few minutes after the 'ideal light'. I did find the textures and colours on these rocks very appealing though.
Techs:
Canon 7D with 10-22mm USM @ 10mm
f11 @ ISO-100
Blend of 2 exposures for dynamic range

Now this is sharp! And the way you used the light to frame the shot is really beautiful.
I like it a lot!
I absolutely love this composition. It is so nice to see an image where it is very clear that the photographer's intention was to showcase an element - whether it be the foreground or background, sky, whatever. Your choice here is wonderful. You've got just enough sky/horizon to give this scene a sense of place, but all the emphasis is on the light, lines, texture and detail of the rocks. I just think this is fantastic.
