Another image from Argentina, this was taken while out in the boat. I know the bird is not looking at the camera but I still liked the action. The bird looks, to me, like a ballerina !!

Nikon D300s, 300 + 1.4 teleconverter, ISO 500, f6.3, 1/3200

Thanks for looking and critiques appreciated.

May

The position of the bird is wonderful May. I also like the blurred wings which let us know that the wings are fluttering as the bird is pecking at the seeds.

Great details and just enough wing blur to some movement in this active pose May.
Very cool :toast:

Love it, great pose and flared feathers. Maybe a touch of lightening in the light part of the eye coul help the eye pop more?

Wonderful pose, May! Those fluffed feathers really make the image, and I don't miss the eye in this case.

Excellent example of why NOT to always follow the "rules" - very unique and interesting balancing act! Love the raised wings, BG and perch/flower head.
Very well-seen and captured!
