Wonderfully composed John, the harmony in colour throughout the image are also very pleasing.

Hi John,

Good timing on this one and I quite like the harmonious, narrow colour palette here. The antlers on the guy on the left certainly dwarf those of its rival!

I'm not 100% sure I'm in love with the crop and how it cuts each elk in half. Part of me thinks going wider (and including the entire animals in the frame) would work better. The other part of me says I'd like it tighter and see just the heads and antlers (likely in a vertical format). These broadside shots are always tough to get just right. One other very minor thing - to my eye the darker band along the bottom of the frame detracts a little. I'm wondering if it's worth risking cropping a little tighter on the bottom to lose that? Just a thought...

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

Brad

I quite like the framing here John - it is certainly not an ideal crop for many...I agree with Brad on losing the darker band at the bottom. Otherwise, nice colours and moment. You'd think the guy on the LHS would not even think of challenging a rack such as this

Hey John,
Agree with the others on the dark band on the bottom but an excellent sparringimage and great to get the faces in the clear!

John, the dark band on the bottom doesn't really bother me that much, but do think the image might be a tad better without it. Still nice capture either way.

Nice action. Like the color of the vegetation in the background.
