Autumn Whispers

One I caught on the way back home from last year's fall colors trip. I've had a vision of this scene with the foreground aspen in peak color, but the timing just hasn't been right the few times I've tried. East of Carson Pass, near Hope Valley, CA. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Large version included.

D200,
18-70mm,
1/8thsec, F/11,

Thanks
Chris

It's nice Chris, especially the atmospherics and snow. Actually kind of reminds me of Flagstaff. The left side feels a bit cluttered with four layers of pine trees stacked up one another. I hope you get what you are looking for. Processing looks spot on.

Maybe not so engaging like other works from you, but still an image where one can appreciate the details and atmosphere that you're so good at capturing.

Perhaps not up to par with some of your other shots it's still a beautiful scene and processed very well.

This is a really nice mix of trees, grasses and sage. The forest here looks very healthy. To top it off some nice atmospheric condition to go with it. All of it looks very fresh. I like it!

Feels like the onset of autumn and I like the dusting of snow on the mountains. Very nice.

A beatiful fall scene that really speaks to me. I love the composition and the additional mood provided by the clouds/fog. Very nice, Chris.

Chris, your image lets me feel this muted atmosphere on a cloudy autumn day. I enjoy the color palette as well as the natural look.

Chris,

I think this is a wonderful scene and I can see your attraction to it. In fact I hope you visit again and get this lone aspen in some great autumn color - red would be nice....

No nits and the processing is excellent!

I really like the low hanging clouds and the placement of the aspen in the composition which balances the peak nicely. I can see why you want to catch this aspen at peak color, but this looks quite nice.
