Mark III, 800mm w/1.4 ext., f/8, 1/640th, ISO 640 Natural light
Since I wasn't sure if I was a bird guy that should post a flower or a flower guy that should post a bird.
Comments always appreciated.

Well...I'm not sure if I'm supposed to comment on the flower or the bird, so I'll just say they're both gorgeous. The bird looks so beautiful surrounded by flowers that match the color of it's feathers. Very nice!

Hi Peter..... What a great shot of one of my favorite birds! I love the comp and detail of the yellowthroat and the fact that you were able to get him with all those complimentary daisies is great! This is really well seen, recorded and presented.... congrats on the image!

LOL! You have it covered either way!
This is a wonderful image - bright little bird in a great pose and with good eye contact, and lovely flowers that compliment the bird perfectly. The tiniest nit - that little blip in the lower right corner.

beautiful, Peter. There is great sharpness to the bird, and the flowers really enhance the photo; much more so than the reeds that I usually find these birds in :).

Terrific choice for the weekly theme. I like the pose of the bird, the great eye contact, sharpness, and, of course, the wonderful color scheme.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the comments.
Sandy, Funny I never really noticed that leaf tip in the lower right. I agree, it doesn't add....
thanks,
Peter

Wonderful. It's unusual to get such a clear view of a yellowthroat.

Peter,
I'd like the tail to be a bit sharper Peter but other than that, I like this a lot. Nice balance in the composition and excellent pose on the bird. The flowers and bird are a really nice complement to each other here.

Pat, I am not sure I had an option of getting the tail sharper. I went to ISO 640 and with the Mark III I usually don't shoot above 400. My guess is to get the tail in focus I would have needed to stop down to f/11 and then my shutter speed would have been way to slow for that much glass and a moving subject. But I agree, if it were it would be better.
Robert, Thank you for taking the time to comment, we all appreciate just hearing that someone liked what we did.
I really do appreicate everyone's comments.

I am neither a bird nor flower guy, but I would say both venues are covered in combination well. The colors of the bird and flowers complimenting each other well enhances the image. The sharpness, position and eye catch of the bird are very nice.
