Larger Version of “C”

Canon EOS 7D, EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM MK II @ 70mm, Manual Settings @ f/5 (1/4000 sec), 0 EV, ISO 100, Handheld, JPEG from RAW, Copped Approximately 40% from Full Frame

Following on from my previous post, seeing as I requested personal preferences for your favourite frame of the 4-shot composite and “C” was the most popular, thought it might be a nice idea to show you a larger version of that one, so here you are and many thanks again to everyone for your interest and comments, much appreciated!

Hope you're all enjoying a wonderful weekend :^)

This is the best of the 4 IMHO! Thanks for posting it alone.

Ashley, I voted for C so you already have my comments about this wonderful image, but I am very curious as to which photo you preferred the most before requesting our opinions and why?

Very dramatic silhouette. The light, the pose of the cat, the composition, all work together to make a great image.

I went back and looked at your previous post, and I agree that this is the strongest of the 4. The silhouette and the pose are very powerful.

Thanks for your appreciative comments Sandy, John, Gary, Carol, Richard, and Rob :^)

Carol: Good questions ;^) Truth be told, I had two early morning attempts to get this series of shots and of course all was dependent of the lady's mood and what Mother Nature had in store for us weather-wise. The series I've shown was taken on the second morning, and while I was initially elated from the results I saw by way of the LCD panel on the back of the camera, the more I scrutinised them back at camp on my MacBook, then even more once I got back home and saw them large on my desktop, I found myself becoming increasingly critical; the head in this isn't completely clear of the front paw; the tail of that one blends too much with the trunk; if only I could have angled the shot so that the tree on the left wasn't visible, which in fairness simply wasn't possible to do in any case, but once I got a roll going on picking up on every little detail it was hard to stop.

Finally I decided to not look at any of this series for at least two weeks, then perhaps I'd be able to see them through a fresh set of eyes. When next I did, while I was far less critical and began to like them again, trying to pick the one I felt was most dynamic became an exercise in frustration, hence the reason I decided to make a composite of four of the best, as I felt, and still feel, that the composite of four makes for a much more compelling image. Though I am very pleased to see that other people found it a whole lot easier to pick a favourite and, despite this one above having been the most popular, all the others received votes too :^)

Beautiful silhouette. Like particularly how the lines on the cat echo the line of the limb it's on. Wondering if the impact might be even better if the bit of foliage in upper left corner were cloned out.
