White-faced Ibis
by Harry Harris
While out at San Jacinto Sunday trying to capture some early lighted waders, we could not get close to any. So we drove around and spotted a flock of WF Ibis which I have only seen about five or six at one place. There must have been two hundred of them along with some Cattle Egrets and White-fronted Geese. They allowed us to get fairly close and my big problem was trying to get one to stand out from the others. It was a total treat to be among them.
The head is soft but I love the pose and the colors on the wing with light on it. I cropped to about 50 % of full frame.
