Marsh Wren

Taken earlier this fall. They were hiding in the reeds but I managed to get at least the head clear of the cattails.

Nikon D300s, 1/640, f 4.5 300 + 1.4 teleconverter, hand held.

Thanks for looking and critiques appreciated.

Your wren stands out well even amongst the same tone reeds. Bird is nice and sharp on the head and you captured the personality well. I like it. Sharon

I really like the oof cattails around the Wren and the smooth feel they add...great detail, also! Love the pose...the only nit is the darker twig in the left corner, it's slightly distracting, but not major! Beautiful shot, overall!

Lovely, peek-a-boo look at these difficult to image birds. I like the background match to the coloration of the bird. Guess that explains why they hide there. Nicely done.

I love this, May. The way the plumage of the Wren and the cattails go together is amazing, and I like the softness and texture of the bg.

Beautiful image.

This works for me. Very nice color and effective composition with limited DOF.

Splendid image May. The bird stands out nicely within the monochromatic tone of the background.

Love the pastel look of the whole photo, a pleasing look of the wren through the reeds. Sweet Photo May
