This is a Juvenile Asian Paradise Flycatcher, when it becomes adult it loses most of its body colour and becomes the Ghost Bird.

The head colours are real.

Taken in Sat taal, India, 17th April 2011

EOS 1D MkIV

500mm F4 hand-held

F6.3, ISO 400, 1/2500

Excellent capture of this beautiful bird Ken!
The colors are amazing, great feather detail, nice perch!
The light spots in the bg are a little distracting, but very minor.
Congrats!! :toast:

Excellent shot Ken, the pano works well with that long tail. :toast:

This is an adult male brown morph APF, the ghost bird you speak of is the white morph.

A very colorful subject! Nicely photographed. I like that you were able to get the tail feathers in a nice line. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks every body, it most certainly a beautiful bird.

Nate,

I seem to have received lots of conflicting inormation on this bird and unfortunately do not have an Indian bird guide, I'll just say that whatever it is its a beauty.
