Yet another galaxy shot from Bisti. It was done by blending two shots taken a few hours apart at the same camera position. Sorry Stan, I promise this is the last one. I have no objection if it is moved to Photo Art section.

Lol, ill hold you to it!
I love the clarity you got in the MW--impressive. Its also pretty cool how the stars stream upwards, looks like a freaky volcano. I'm tired of typing rants, so you can visit Yiming's shot for the rest of it...

Stan, I read all your comments. I have a hard time to figure out what is photo art. At least my picture is not making the head spinning
Yiming thought one galaxy picture is enough. Too many of those makes them look like weather maps. I disagree. I think I should post 3 galaxy pictures. One vertical, one horizontal, the last one to make people sick and tired of galaxy pictures.

This is extremely well done John. Your work in controlling light pollution and artifacts is some of the best I have seen here. And since some of the best photogs around post here..well, congrats!
Do you overlay the star portion with a black layer or something? Usually you get a little banding with just a single exposure..curious as to how you pulled this off.
Keep em coming!

This is superbly done, John.
I am glad that Stan has run out of his ammo at this moment

I really like the two exposures shot hours apart as a way of lighting the foreground. It seems better than light painting with a spot light.

The clarity is indeed impressive, and the landscape gives a real otherworldly feel. Nice work!

I've photographed at Bisti during daylight hours many years ago.
This is strikingly beautiful. Well composed and processed.

Sometimes I feel I don't even live in this galaxy it's so unrecognizable any more. What an other-worldly place.

This has a great otherworldly feel to it, very well done. I think a comp that includes just the brighter prtion of the milky way with the formations featured more prominently would be incredible.

I love these, John! I find them imaginative, artistic, thoughtfully planned, and contemplative....our little orb spinning about in all that..marvelous! Keep them coming!

Fabulous John! The way you lit up the landscape is what makes this work for me.
