Taken in da Upper Peninsula (UP) of Michigan on a really bright day just as the sun was going down. I was however perturbed by the photographer who almost walked into this shot from the right side. I guess we do get in each others way sometimes.

Nikon D700
70-200 mm @ 70 mm
ISO 200

.4 sec.

Good MorningTom, I love the light you caught here! The water is beautiful and looks so true to color for this place. The highlighted waves and wet rock look wonderful. I think you have to look at the large version of this to do it justice! Nice work Tom. Wish I was back up there even though I know the color is gone. :toast:

Beautiful shot, Tom. I especially like the reflected light in the water and I'm glad you chose to retain some detail with your shutter speed. Some may comment on the centered composition but I don't know how I would have changed it other than to say that it might have been nice to have more foreground if there was more of that reflected light.

Funny how you become more critical of your own work when you get ready to or post in these galleries. The centering of the horizon line was much more obvious to me once I posted. Thanks for the comments folks.

The wedge makes for a really strong element here, and the blank sky with it's color transition works well too. How could someone walk into this without getting seriously wet
