Common Bronzewing photographed at Blue Range near Canberra. These birds occur in forest and woodland over much of Australia.

Canon 7D, EF500 f/4 + 1.4x, ISO 400, f/5.6 1/250. Added a little canvas at bottom from next frame, digitally pruned a couple of sticks at left; slight crop from right and top.

Sweet looking bird. Wish the BG was not so busy.

The colors here are beautiful, the bird and the background harmonize well. I like the habitat.

Beautiful shot Simon, love the iridescence of the greens in the wing! Although I can see how the background could be a little "busy" for some, I actually like the mottled effect.

Can't see any evidence of "pruning" on the left, so thumbs up for that ;^)

Looking at the details you wrote in reference to what you cropped, kind of has me wondering where your focus point must have been and why you set it there. Not a major issue of course, as the bird seems nicely detailed, however, it makes it kind of difficult taking the subject out of centre, if you're one of those that prefer a subject in profile to have more space to look into than there is behind it.
