Canon EOS 7D
EF400mm f/5.6L USM
10/16/2011 – 10:44:39 AM
1/2000 sec
Manual
f/5.6 (6.3 would have been better)
ISO 640
Handheld
Paynes Prairie Preserve
Raw, LR3, CS5, 46% of FF with this crop

If I don't keep on trying I won't keep on getting better, and we have lots of ospreys around this area, so I'm afraid you'll see more of them than you may want to. I did get some eagle shots on Saturday, but they'd be about 15% of FF, so that's a no go. I also have anhinga flying shots, but I don't think they're good enough. There might be one. We'll see. :)

About this particular shot I like that the head and beak are not in front of the wings, and I like the way the tail looks, and I always love to see the feet.

Comments and suggestions are desired and greatly appreciated. Please look at the larger version if you can.

Thank you!

This looks very nice to me Barbara, the light and sharpness on the head are very good. If you have more room in the original on the top I might include that and take some from the bottom because the bird is headed towards the top of the frame. :toast:

Wow! I think this is an excellent Osprey in-flight shot Barbara, for all my attempts I only really have one I'm relatively happy with, and if this were mine I'd be proud to have two in my collection! Looking forward to seeing more :^)

Very nice! The bird looks very sharp and the exposure is right on. The lighting looks a little harsh, but all in all a very nice image.

Very nice osprey flight shot, the larger image looks good with the wing span, eye contact and tail feathers spread out, nice job in getting this difficult shot, one of your best images, way to go.

Nice and sharp Barbara, I like the wing position. Good work.
