Hey, this is my post!

I took this on Sunday along the Delaware Bay. Several Royal Terns were perched on a series of posts. Once in a while, one tern would fly up to another and force it off the post on which it was perched. This usually resulted in a chain reaction, where the displaced bird would find another tern to displace, and so on and so on. This kept happening despite the fact that several posts weren't occupied. It was fun to watch and photograph.

The sun was behind me when I took this late afternoon shot.

Equipment - Canon 7D, 300mm f/4 + 1.4 teleconverter, Manfrotto tripod, BH-3 ballhead

ISO 400, 1/2500 sec., f/8

This is cropped a little over 50% from a horizontal original.

Nate, I like the action you captured. Nice detail, you have good detail in the white for the most part. TFS.

I like the interaction/argument you have captured here. Nice view of both birds. I might do a bit of noise reduction on the background.

I like the interaction you captured here and the open wings .The beaks position looks as if the one is feeding the other but that is just the angle of the shot
