Another Oxbow Bend Photo

We all know how beautiful Oxbow Bend in the Tetons is in the fall. There are the classic views - and then there are others not well known. I was there in early october; it was beautiful one day and smokey the next, depending on the wind. You can't help but look around at all the beauty, and while doing so I spotted this little tree across the river. I loved the way the light was shining through the leaves and into the water. Simple, lovely. Anything else?

I like what you are trying to do here Margaret and I think it works well. That being said, the shadows look too smoothed out and the highlights are little bright. I think it could be balanced a little better...

I can see why you would be drawn to this scene and the light Margaret. I would be tempted to give the image some more contrast and open up the shadows a tad.

Nice backlight and isolation on the tree

Per the suggestions, here is another version of the tree. I increased contrast, lightened the dark shadow ares (without doing away with the "frame" around the tree), and cropped to remove the bright area in the lower right. Better?

The changes are pretty subtle. I am not sure how I feel about the crop because the logs in the middle get cut off. The biggest improvement I see is removing the hot spot in the LRC.
