This is a buck that I caught during the rut, he was pre-occupied with a beautiful doe.

Hi Tammy,

Welcome to NPN :wavey: A handsome looking young mule deer buck you have here, I really like the striking color of his face. You did well getting near enough for such a close-up portrait. Your exposure looks right on, nice details in the whites. The out of focus vegetation across his nose is a bit distracting, but not a whole lot you can do about that. I'm wondering if there may be more room on the left side of the original photo, perhaps a tighter crop on the right side and more looking room on the left side would make it stronger. Sweet first post Tammy!!! I am looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Hi Tammy,

Welcome to NPN and the Wildlife Gallery in particular. I like the overall colour scheme here and the image looks well-exposed. I would agree with Ken that the image might work better (at least for me) if there was more room on the left side of the image (so that the buck is looking more INTO the frame instead of out of it).

Thanks for sharing this and I'm looking forward to future posts from you...

Cheers...
