Beginning the Change

With lots of rain and a less-than-spectacular fall, I finally took the time to shoot one of these close red maple and paper birch compositions. I don't know if it's a cliche' or not, but it's been in my mind for a while, and I like the results.

Shot in a light rain.

Canon 50D
Sigma 17-70: Circ. Polarizer
1/80 sec. @ f/8; ISO 200
Tripod and 2-sec. timer

Like this one alot, too bad the leaves have so many holes in them, sort of distracts. Thanks for sharing.

CPL did its job admirably well, Wayne. Crunchy punchy colors there and they look lovely against the silvery barks !!!.

Wayne:
I can see why you like it. Rich color with the CPL. Like birch trunk in the bg.

Cliche´ or not doesn't matter at all when the result is this good! Your mind's eye prepared you well.

This is kinda picky, Wayne, but I think it would look better without the yellow (un-maple) leaves on the left edge around the green maple leaves...
