Celtic Sunset

Another image from an incredible evening on Traigh Mhor, Isle of Harris, Outer Hebrides, Scotland at sunset. The light was incredible and conditions of wind and pounding surf, breathtaking. Taken on a Transient Light Workshop.

The version on my website has a lot less contrast Celtic Sunset.

Thanks for having a look and for your comments and critiques.

Canon 5DM2
Canon 24-70mm at 30mm
ISO100 0.3sec f/11
Reverse Gradient

On sharpening for web presentation with TK's less halo action, I upped the contrast to Medium instead of my usual Linear contrast setting since I liked the heightened orange color in the clouds and ocean against the turquoise water. Also, the darker light seemed to heighten the ethereal and mystical nature to me of this scene which this evening certainly was all about.

Great foreground, with a deep toned sand and sweet reflection coupled with a very dynamic sky. This image works really well, Eva!

You're doing quite a job advertising for Ian's workshops. This is just about everything one could hope for, I believe. Wonderful light, excellent composition, and a lot of wonderful textures to enjoy. Very fine work.

Beautiful scene! I especially like that orange above the mountain. I think the processing turned out very well; I like the dark mood.

A lovely scene and what gorgeous weather. The textures in both the water and the sky are superb.

Wonderful image Eva! Excellent dramatic feel with this. Great color, the water looks awesome and the sand texture all very nice. I especially like the reflection on the wet sand. Nice work.

This looks like it could be Maui with lanai in the distance. The dark contrasts and foreboding mood makes this standout.

Wow, very dramatic Eva! Light looks transient indeed in this one  . All features look great - the sky, the wave, the light reflected on the wet sand.

Looks like you had some wild weather on your trip Eva. That Ian must be some instructor if he can order up such dramatic conditions

Magnificent sky, Eva. Love the dark, stormy light. That emerald water color is quite amazing amongst the reds. This sure looks like a magical place, I bet you never wanted to leave!

Love the contrast, Eva, with the light out of darkness feel which for some reason seems to go along with your Celtic title more than your website image; perhaps the higher contrast gives the idea of looking back in time to days long, long ago. Gorgeous color as well. The larger image is of course incredible; the subtle warm tones in the clouds and water really come to life.
