"Falling" color

I love reflections. This one of Mt. Moran at Oxbow Bend and the fall colors was beautiful. The days had been so smokey due to some wildfires outside the park, but on this morning we woke to clear atmospheric weather. So we hurried up to Oxbow. We were not disappointed with the scene or the reflections. A little of the golden grass at the shore anchors the reflection and keeps you from getting too dizzy! Great color, which was mostly green just 3 days earlier.

The water needs more movement for this to be effective.

Why do you think so? I'm not sure I see how that would make it better. Thanks.

Looks like some good color there! I think I like this better cropped to just the reflection. I can understand the grounding, but it pulls my eye from the rest of the scene. I think letting it make you dizzy would be a good thing. Late or early light might make this more golden too; that would be beautiful.

Margaret, I like the colors you captured in this image. But, for me the reflection does not come off well. I think maybe too much in the image, or not enough. I would try cropping to just the tree reflection and see how you like it. I would try a vertical crop with the tree reflection only. It is a pretty scene, glad the weather cleared so you could get the photo. Thanks for sharing.

The shoreline does ground the photo. Beautiful lighting on the trees. From a processing point of view, a little less yellow in the shoreline grasses may help them stand out more and give the image more depth and dimension. A slight crop off the top would eliminate the dark shadow area that seem to creep in on the top edge - just a minor distraction. Must have been a great morning there.
