Complete Exposure

Canon EOS 7D, EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM MK II + 1.4x Extender @ 170mm, Aperture Priority @ f/8 (1/1250 sec), -1/3 EV, ISO 400, Handheld, JPEG from RAW, About 85% of Full Frame

The actual caption I have on printed versions of this images reads, “No, I've Never Even Heard of The Lotus Position!”, which I much prefer to “Complete Exposure” but it's just a touch to long to fit in the title field here on the NPN ;^)

The subject you see here is a Ring-Tailed Lemur warming itself up at 6:21 am under the just-rising sun before heading off into the forest for breakfast in Southeastern Madagascar.

Critique and comments always welcome.

Another fine capture, Ashley. We had them doing this right outside our chalet door at Berenty, but needless to say I didn't get any decent shots of the behaviour. I prefer your original title as well.

I am not so much attracted by all that is 'exposed' Ashley, but I love the light and those amber eyes!

Thanks for your appreciative comments Verdon, Hussain, David S, Lon, Vincent, David H, Ken, Fabio, and Jim :^)

Verdon & Hussain: While there are undoubtedly many wonderful places in Madagascar to find beautiful species, the location I shot my Lemurs is called Berenty - same place David (Sewell) visited - on the southeastern part of the island. Reason I chose to go there was simply that I only had four days, and I'd read this was one place I'd definitely be able to find Ring-Tailed Lemurs as well as Verreaux's Sifaka, which are my two favourite species of Lemur.

If either of you wishes to plan a trip there - or anywhere else on the island for that matter - drop me a line and I'll be happy to give you the contact detail of the local tour operator I used, who is both helpful, reliable, and trustworthy.
