Luskentyer Bay, Isle of Harris, Scotland, a little after the sunrise that was not..... but beautiful none-the-less. I swear, I see streaks of sunlight in the foreground dune, but alas, there was no sun this morning. Taken on a Transient Light Workshop. Just an amazing beach with many visual pleasures....

Canon 5DM2
Canon TS-E24mm f/3.5L II
ISO200 1/50sec f/11

Thanks for looking.

I see it too, Eva. Something is shedding some soft light on the dunes as well as the clouds.
I like the focus on the FG here. Not sure if it's real or not, but I get a breezy feeling from the direction and curves of the beach grass.

If there is a beach to be found anywhere in the world, you will find the beauty in it.

Hey Wayne, Thanks! How would ya have ever guessed I loved beaches? I grew up near the NJ shore and spent weeks there year after year but Cape Breton and Mid Coast Maine solidified my love of these places. Scotland, Oh Scotland, I could spend a lifetime there. Maybe next time around!

Thanks Stan! Well ya know the wonders of the 24mm TSE.

Eva, this subtle play with light and shadow in the foreground really brings your image to life for me. A plain composition, that reflects the atmosphere in a consistent way to me.

Yes, a little reflected light and shadows. Very simple and effective.

Lovely visual echo with the hump of the foreground sand dunes mimicing the indigo backdrop of the Harris hills. The light is soft and gorgeous and the wispy dune grass a delight to behold.

Incredible depth here, Eva. I really like the comp and light. Feels a tad underexposed on my monitor, but that does create a bit of mood.

Love your composition, Eva, with the strong graphic lines of the grasses and that nice texture in the sand so prominent in the FG. Love that soft light as well. Amazing that those grasses are still and sharp, considering the wind you seem to have experienced during your time there; must have been a rare calm day which must have been a treat. Nice work.
