During my 2007 visit to Rwanda we did two mountain gorilla treks in Parc National des Volcans. The second visit was with the Amahoro Group. It took about 45 minutes to walk through the forest to their location, after which we were limited to an hour-long visit. It's not cheap, but the experience is well worth it in my opinion.

Canon 40D
Canon 70-200mm 2.8IS
ISO 640
1/250th
f/2.8

Ahhh, a location and subject I dream of visiting! Nice close-up of this delightful character Max, you must have had a wonderful time. I've love to see more from your Mountain Gorilla collection ... pretty please ;^)

This is a very engaging portrait Max. The leaves he or she is chewing on are adding a lot to this. The eye contact also is very nice with the eyes looking at you, but the face turned away. I am not at all bothered by the clipped off head, but wish that little triangle of green were not there in the TRC, but that is very minor. :toast:

Hi Max,

With the brief time your were allowed with the group, you came away with a beautiful portrait that will remind you of this incredible experience forever. I can almost feel what this momment must have meant to you through his gentle expression and trusting eye contact.

Very Nice Max :toast:
