simple, concise composition. I like the island of "warmth" in the midst of all the cooler toned mists.

Man, this is my kind of place, so you know it's my kind of picture, too. The canoe and paddlers put the perfect finishing touch on this portrait of a beautiful island, isolated from the background by the fog, but with the mountain environment showing just enough for context. Simply beautiful light, atmosphere, and composition. (Makes me wonder what kind of fish are waiting there.)

Love the composition, the simplicity and mood. The canoe really adds to the image and augments the feeling of an isolated place. Well done.

Really great shot Graham, I like the panoramic framing. Derwentwater is a wonderful place in conditions like this. Very obliging kayakers too.

Fantastic image, Graham. I might be tempted to clone out the mtn on the horizon and reflection on the left which puts all the emphasis on this classically beautiful scene on the right.
