1D Mk iv, 600mm f4, 1/500s, f4, iso 400. Early morning sunshine.
Taken in the Spring. I was hidden under a bank at the side of the loch and at times felt as if one might land on my head. They are rather heavy to do that!

a beauty Ian, the large version is particularly impressive. The simple background sets it off a treat.

Great shot Ian! Sharp where it matters most, great feather detail and I like the hint of movement in the wingtips. The simple background as Matt says finishes this shot off nicely.

Just a perfect flight shot, Ian. Those honkers fly at speed; this was a good catch at 1/500 SS. Good detail where it counts and a nice simple BG.

A pleasure to view Ian,
Well positioned with a great neutral coloured background. Good eye contact too with just enough wing blur to show motion.
From your comments it sounds like they were really close
Keep up the good work

Perfect flight shot of one of these often over looked birds - there are hundreds of them around here, but getting them with as clean a BG/FG as this is no easy task.

I usualy prefer in-flight shots to have a bit more room when the subject is flying across the image, but the oblique angle and tighter crop works here with the implied room for the subject to fly into.

I like the blur at the end of the wings. Lovely flight shot.

Hello Ian.
Beautifully captured and the soft lighting as work really well on this image. I also like your composition for a frame filling image.
