Well my excuse for not posting recently is a slight change in circumstances, I currently live on a sailboat in British Columbia. Also i lost my copy of elements so couldn't process images. Anyway some nice people gave me a copy of elements a couple weeks ago and i currently have reasonably regular access to internet so i thought i'd start posting again, unfortunately it'll be canadian stuff though.

This one is from about a week ago in strathcona park on vancouver island, snow already over here in the hills. Just found out today i've got a job at the ski resort up there so aim to make photographing the woodland birds there my project for the winter.

These are Gray Jays also called Whiskey Jacks, as you can see they're tame as anything. In fact quite a bit tame than robins i've found.

couldn't seem to work out how to convert to sRGB with this version of elements so this is Adobe RGB

I had a double take at the focal length on this one. Yup, they are very tame!

Good detail considering the difficult exposure conditions. Only nit: I'd clone out the marks on the snow to the right. Otherwise I like! :toast:

I like the wideangle perspective Jack and always nice to see a snowy backdrop.

Great to see a different subject Jack!

Living on a sailboat in BC? I'm extremely jealous! British Columbia (and the whole Pacific Northwest) is an extremely inspiring place for any wildlife/wilderness enthusiast. :wavey:

Very nice Jack always an added bonus when you can show the birds habitat and still have the bird large in the frame.

18mm!!! Now that is a seriously confiding bird. Great shot, and it is nice to see something different.

Amazing angle, both from the lens and the low POV has produced a great habitat shot. I feel you could tease out a little more detail in the snow.
