Had to go way back in the archive to 1984 for this one. Early morning rain on Long Pond; Mt Desert Island, ME.

I like this shot. A lot is going on in this deceptively serene scene. The reflection of a dark sky. The way some of the lily pads have adapted to the current while others have not. The leaning sedgees/rushes. The current rippling the water. The rain beads poised precariously. The dark shadow that may be the reflection of a tree. And the rain. Is there a flood or something? Ponds usually do not have current. Nice image.

Lots of interesting elements here with the drops on the pads, a few raindrops hitting the water and that one bubble near the top. This does a good job of showing a rainy day. I do wonder if a slight warming would reduce the coolness of the image without interfering with the rainy day statement.

Great rainy day picture, Barry. I like the raindrops on the lily pads and how they have beaded up. Rich colors also. You could make several cropped photos out of this shot if you wished. I think a square crop of the right grouping of 3 lily pads would make a great shot, or a rectangle crop of just the exposed lily pads, or a vertical crop of the right side. I see lots of possibilities, however, it is nice as is! Great find in your archives.

Very nice! I love all those repeating circles - the lily pads and the raindrops as well. What a beautiful scene!
