Midsummer Night

A shot from a magnificent late summer evening, close to midnight actually. I had to do some balancing tricks to get out to this waterfall, but it gave me a really delicate compositional point. Such a smooth waterfall...

Shot with canon 5d & 16-35mm
Polarizer, Lee grad.

Oh I love it when you get down low....a really compelling comp, great lead-in lines and then there's the soft light and warm glow....I can't improve on this.

An impressive capture of the atmosphere to me, Arild. I especially appreciate the way you present the subsurface elements in the foreground and that great sense of silent flow.

Hi Arild,
Superb shot, that mountain in the background is fantastic, everything takes you there. Terrific work!

Wow!!! This shot looks like it really took a lot of tricks to get it done. Wonderful job. I love the lines in the rocks benewath the soft flowing waters. Colors add to the whole idea perfectly. L

Some people don't go for the silky, long-exposure water. I think it's gorgeous in this case at least.

Love the silky motion in the water as well as the nice color in the submerged rocks in the FG. Excellent how the river draws the eye back to that distant mountain.

Beautiful composition and I really like the dark glowing twilight feel which is reinforced by the earthy color and silky water.
