Moonrise at the Cliffs

Hi All,

A pano from the cliffs near Miramar, a small coastal town of Argentina. I took the shot after moonrise with the last light of the day. I tried several compositions for a pano at this place and never liked one until I got this cloud formation. Hope it works (in some way!)

Luis

Very nice panoramic shot. The clouds make the shot!

I agree, the sweeping cloud band is spectacular.

Great cloud pattern and great mix of warm and cool tones. The clouds do make it.

¡Excelente panorama!
Felicitaciones Luis. The pano format really shows its power here. It seems to me the exposure was just perfect. I just had the curiosity about if it would have been better to move the horizon a bit down (to enhance the amazing clouds in the sky). Anyway, loved it very much.

Very pretty, and works very nicely as a pano. Like the composition a lot.

Thank you for the feedback!
I was lucky to have the clouds forming an arch above the pano. I'm sure there's some compositive trick to try without those clouds but to be honest nothing comes to my mind.

Hi Luis, This is pretty cool. Like others I really enjoy the cloud pattern here, and also think the moon really adds to the image. That seems to make a nice balance in this picture. It all works great in this pano format. Very nice work.

Very strong image, Luis. Good balance between the clouds in the UL and the rocks in the LR.

The panoramic format sure works well with that cloud and moon in your composition. The rocks on the right nicely complement the warm tones of the horizon. Works quite well in my opinion. That cloud was a real gift.

A beautiful scene, killer skies and a very nice bonus with the moon. Couldn't have been better placement of the moon in the scene either. Nice job of composing and capturing it, Luis! I'm a big fan of panoramas and this is an excellent one.

Very nice pano Luis, those clouds certainly add a lot to the scene. The moon helps to balance out the scene as well. One thing I noticed: there is an odd darkness in the sky on the right above the clouds, just to the left of the cliffs, did you use a polarizer for this shot? Might try dodging the sky in that area. Nice work!
