Traigh Mhor, Isle of Harris, Scotland.

Just before sunset I found this corner of the beach with some nice rocks and noticed these amazing clouds. As it turned out, these amazing clouds produced one of the most amazing sunsets I have ever seen. Lewis and Harris Transient Light Workshop.

Wow. Looks like some great atmospheric conditions out there! The lighting on the shore is interesting, too. IMO, I'd like to see just a tad more of the rocks on the lower left side of the image. I'd love to see more of the sunset that evening!

Nice leading lines. Great warm tones between the cloud highlights and the sand.

Those are amazing clouds and you're captured them very well. I especially like the large version.

I can see you Inverness influence here, Eva. Less water maybe, but similar drama.

The sky is fantastic! If there were a way to minimize the fg and maximize the bg--i might have tried for that, but this 50/50 split is quite nice too.

Lots of beauty to enjoy here, Eva. Wonderful sky, and I find the overall softness very appealing. Beautiful landscape...

I was going to suggest a little more contrast in the sky but after looking at the large version I thin it is just right :toast:

Thanks everyone! Really appreciate your comments and critiques.

Tony - This place does remind me of my Inverness, NS but the scale and expanse of this beach in Atlantic Scotland is so much larger. Sorta like comparing the Maine coast to the Pacific NW. Similar scenery..... but on steroids. The light in Scotland also has some very special qualities that I don't see in the US or Canada probably because of the weather / atmospheric conditions..... but waiting for the good light takes patience..... as it always does..... in Inverness, NS too.

Eva,

This one grows on me each time I view it. At first glance it appears as just another coastal image. But in addition to the glorious sky, I finally picked up on the very nicely crafted composition and alignment of the rocks creating dual lead-in lines, pulling the viewer in to the landscape and on to the great sky and clouds. Even the headlands and shoreline point the viewer towards the center of the frame. This is excellent!

If I had a small nit, it would be a wish for a skosh more room a the bottom for the line of rocks on the left. But that's minor. Well seen and beautifully crafted.

Eva, I appreciate exploring all the shapes and textures of this scene, especially together with this specific atmosphere.

My only suggestion would be to change the rather tight crop along the edge of the rock at the bottom, but this is only a minor matter to me.
