Oyster Catcher

I've been trying to capture a good picture of the Oyster Catcher for a year. Something was always wrong with the image or the environment. I even tried when I was in Alaska this summer, but no luck. I ended up with a nice image taken in Galveston TX this month about 45 minutes from my home. I love the colors and the high stepping foot. All comments & suggestions welcomed.

Very nice exposure with good detail in both the whites and the blacks. The raised foot is a plus and I like the texture of the raised foot. Good job

Great detail in the bird, especially in the blacks and whites. Like the raised foot as well.

I'd like to just see one someday. I'd be very happy with this. This would be a tough one to expose right, but it looks pretty good on my monitor.

Nice Dottie, the pose makes the shot for me. I might try bringing the overall exposure down a tad to see how it looks. Some of the whites and the legs/feet seem slightly bright to me and you have plenty of detail in the darks to work with.

Really nice image, Dottie. I like the sharpness of the bird and the light in the eye. It can be very difficult to get the eyes looking normal in these birds, but this one is perfect. The clarity of the water with the rocks below is a plus. You've gotten a great low angle. I like the leg lift. Well done.

Nice younger bird with a raised foot. I might tone down the brightest areas a little if it were mine. Seems a touch tight on the sides. Nice job with the sharpness
