Canon PowerShot S5 IS

Manual
f/3.5
ISO 100
Focal length 72mm
Probably with a tripod
My backyard
JPG, originally processed in PS Elements 9, reprocessed to use Curves in PS CS5

I love the things that grow around the edge of the pond, especially in the late afternoon. The light is wonderful then around the pond. This image is from just a little over a year ago. The background is the pond, looking green that day from the reflections, and I used Curves to darken the background to make it a darker green. I know that no longer looks like a pond, but it makes the backlighting prettier in the image, I think.

Comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Lovely light and detail. I like the little cobwebs going every which way, really adds a fun and interesting element to a beautiful image.

Very cool! It looks like caterpillars climbing the grass stem. The spider silk is neat also.

Barbara this is exceptional.
The darkish background with several filaments or webs take the eye all over the photo.
Technically great detail.
Splashes of color within the heavily back-lighted area is very additive.

I completely agree with you about the background, Barbara. I think it's perfect. The tiny bits of silk stretching towards the edges of the frame are wonderful, too. This is beautiful!
