I was so focused on shooting osprey as they were building their nest that I would've never noticed this yellow-bellied marmot about fifteen feet behind me if it hadn't introduced itself with a "whistle".

As always, comments & suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Nice sharp image, with good detail in the marmots coat and face. I like the FG, but the BG has a couple of white lines which do distract abit. If you could darken them I think it would decrease the distraction. Thanks for sharing this neat photo of a whistle pig.

Hi Guy,

I always like seeing the yellow-bellied marmots - not many of them in my neck of the woods (mostly hoary marmots here). Nice color palette and I like the positioning of the subject in the frame. I tend to agree with John that the light forked tree that is right behind the marmot is a bit of a distraction, but it's certainly no deal-breaker...

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

Thanks for the input guys, here's a repost with the light tree behind the marmot burned down a bit.

Beautiful animal! Nice comp, sharp image. Yes, the oof white forked tree is a bit distracting, but only a wee, wee bit, and there's nothing you could have done about it, I suppose.
