I would anticipate comments saying the image is soft, which it is. For whatever reason, it appears a little softer here than my original or in other places I've posted.

Not only is it soft, Roger, it is also extremely 'noisy'. I don't know whether it was because of the high ISO, or that you have cropped this image a lot.

Wow ! Its refreshing to see a bear on snow ! Surprised to see they are still out. Isnt it past their bed time

The larger version looks heavily compressed (just 131 kb), that might explain part of the softness/noise.

This certainly looks very worthy of a repost as the IQ has suffered a lot from compression and not using the full file size available.

I would like to see the shadows opened up a tad

Hi Roger,

I like how the cub is positioned in the frame and the general composition. The softness and noise issues have already been discussed so won't dwell on those other than to say that the shooting conditions (amount of light) likely would have precluded you from getting a tack sharp image here anyway - 1/350s isn't likely to freeze a running bear (but note that I'm not implying at all that you did anything wrong, simply that the conditions imposed upon you pretty much made it impossible to get a sharp image here).

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

Brad

Brad summed it up nicely. A great moment to witness, less so to photograph given the conditions and available light... :frown:
Looks like he was motoring...
