The last glow from sunset a couple of weeks ago. I manually blended 2 exposures to balance the sky and water. Thanks for the comments on the prior images from this night. C&C always welcome and appreciated. 7D, f/11, ISO 400, 1/50s and 1/13s, cropped to ratio.

Hey Rob, Nice balance of water and sky. The "Bottoms" never looked better. I "assume" the spots in the right sky are geese. If they are - great capture, if not - they're distracting. You should be shooting snow and ice out there pretty soon.

Thanks Bill and Merle. Merle, those are geese, but there isn't a lot of detail in them. I debated cloning them out, but haven't decided yet. I hope we don't have snow/ice anytime soon :). Saturday's heavy snows were a couple hours west of here; we just had rain here in central Kansas while eastern Kansas had severe thunderstorms.

Intense and lovely. These are the things we see sometimes that almost makes us forget to click the shutter.

Rob,

I actually think the geese provide that extra little element that takes this image beyond just a standard sunset image. In fact, I'd go even a bit further and suggest a pano crop to help emphasize the line of birds and horizon. Great sky. Also nice texture in the water but personally a bit more than needed. Just one person's opinion though.

The reflected glow makes this one of those totally relaxing images. Great feel.

To me the geese ad a sense of place and feeling. A fall sunset over a marsh or lake with migrating birds and great color. Great image.
