Cedar Waxwing - at last

I did not see my first waxing until two weeks ago and the light was very bad but I did see them. I have been going back to San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary just about every three days since and this morning I finally captured some fairly good images. boy they are difficult to capture. They stay high up then suddenly fly down to the berry bushes, grab a couple and fly back. I enjoyed them so much.

Canon 7D with 500mm
Tripod
1/800 at f / 5.6
ISO 320
EV - 1/3

C&Cs are very much appreciated.

You got some clean air behind the waxwing - I like the berry -- crop permitting I would like to see more of the canopy on top and a little less on the bottom to frame the bird a bit -- gratz on gettng this shto of an elusive bird

Very nice Harry. Love the berry in the beak. Light is nice as is the habitat. Nice detail and sharpness especially in the eye area.

Congrats on getting your first waxwing Harry! Great detail and the berry-n-beak's a nice plus.
I like all the reds & greens that frame the bird, it's an interesting & colorful setting that compliments the bird.
Well done! :wavey:
