Here is another shot from my trip to Herbert Lake a while ago. Not sure if it's too dark or not... my monitor has crapped out and I've been waiting on my new one... any day now! There is detail in all the shadow areas on the original file. I appreciate your comments.

Wonderful contrast and perspective Wayne. I like you choice of B&W conversion.

Love it. Looks soft on the left side but hopefully that's just the screen. Love the tonal range. This needs to be LARGE to be appreciated. Great work. Could also see a shot of the receding lines and reflection w/o the tree on left too....

Nicely idyllic. The brightness behind the tree on the left distracts my eye from the wonderful right 2/3rds of the photo, maybe tone that down a little?

A very nice b&w, Wayne. I like the glow in the sky and the reflection is awesome. Not to sure about the fallen fg log, which seems to go against this idyllic scene.

Wayne,

Not too dark at all. Great in the the b&w. Only wish you could have also captured an image with just the reflection. Pretty clear you were limited with access up front, so I think you made an excellent choice. the scene sets up beautifully for many other comps that I'm sure you must have managed.

I like it Wayne. I usually do not like logs that cross in the FG but yours does not distract too much. The right side does look a little dark like you might have used a vignetting tool on it.

Processing looks good. I love the reflections in the lake and the light in the sky. Truthfully the foreground tree and log are a distraction. This is an example of a scene that doesn't need a foreground - this would be awesome as a landscape of just the lake with background trees and mountain and sky.
