An old and weathered tree sits dying amongst a carpet of new spring wildflowers. Such is the contrast of this granite landscape.

I love this! I am expecting a hobbit to pop out of a hole any moment! Seriously, this is very well done. It does what B/W should do—set the stage for drama. The vignetting works well here, bringing the focus to the tree, starkness in the middle of lush vegetation.

Well done with this... the vignetting may be a little dark for my taste, (might just be my monitor here away from home), but it really highlights the subject well..

Very effectively processed, but composition and subject are convincing. I always like it when images have some Tim Burton reference. This tree (and actually the whole setting) has Tim Burton written all over it.

I like all the tangled vegetation but it's the vignette that meakes this image work - really makes me focus on the subject.

Wow. Excellent composition and the B&W version, with its contrast, look wonderful.

My kind of image, David. It's special and I like that you didn't focus your attention exclusively on the tree, but rather you've made it part of the landscape. Hope it makes sense. Stunning image!

I normally don't like this strong of vignetting, but I think it works well here. Very cool old tree, and it really stands out this way.
